The joy and passion that Leuchtturm has been pursuing with high-quality stamp accessories for more than 100 years.
The history of Lighthouse Albenverlag begins in 1917, when the lithographer and printer Paul Koch founded the Kabe publishing house in Aschersleben in present-day Saxony-Anhalt. Kabe was the abbreviation for Koch & Bein, Bein being the name of his business partner. The company produced the Kabe stamp albums that are still available today, and later also issued coin albums under the 'Komet' brand. Paul Koch had to sell his first company in the 1930s. After the war, Koch was able to establish a new company in Hamburg in 1948: Leuchtturm Albenverlag, which also specialised in the production of stamp albums.
